Park City Academy Administrator
Sandy Flury began her dance training in the Chicago area studying under tap and jazz greats including Tommy Sutton, Art Stone, Danny Hoctor and Gus Giordano. Sandy danced professionally throughout college with the Chicago based Dancesations and the Radio City Rockettes.
Sandy received her degree from the University of Utah in commercial physical fitness with business and dance minors. Sandy became the women’s athletic director for the Sports Mall in Murray where she initiated the fitness instruction, dance, and aquatics programs.
Sandy served as the Chairman of the Utah Heart Association “Dance for Heart”, as the Utah State representative for the International Dance Educators Organization, and the President of the Utah Fitness Instructors Association.
Sandy and her long friend and business partner Trish Ryland opened the Park City Dance Academy of Performing Arts in 1997. As owners, instructors, and directors they surrounded themselves with a fabulous faculty specializing in ballet, tap, and contemporary jazz. Park City Dance soon became known for their dedication to the development and growth of dance and performance arts through quality professional training.
Dancers from the Park City Dance studio have been featured entertainers at the 2002 Olympics, on multiple cruise Lines, and at Disney Land. Graduates have received numerus college scholarships and have continued to carriers on Broadway and in professional ballet companies.
Park City Dance has supported local charities and fund raisers including the Utah Food Bank, Image Reborn, and Light as Air.
In July 2016 the Park City Dance Academy was acquired by Ballet West and Sandy is now the administrator for the Peggy Bergmann Ballet West Academy in Park City.
