CHILDREN'S WORKSHOPS | Ages 4 and Up

Ballet West Academy at Trolley Square offers a summer Children’s Workshop that is designed for young dancers who want to experience a professional, caring and creative learning environment. This summer workshop guides students in their ballet technique in an environment that promotes creative growth. Classes are held for levels Beginning A through Elementary D.

PLACEMENT FOR CURRENT ACADEMY STUDENTS
Students should register for the class that correlates with their current (2017-2018) enrollment.

PLACEMENT FOR NEW STUDENTS
Placement for new students is initiated by sending an email to academy@balletwest.org. The emails should indicate the dancer’s age, birthdate, and approximate number of years they have studied dance (if any.) Auditions are not required to attend this workshop. A brief dance sample video may be required for dancers age 9 and above. Placement will be evaluated throughout the program and is subject to change.

TUITION
After students receive a placement email they can secure a place in our program by enrolling in our parent portal [https://www.iclassprov2.com/parentportal/balletwestacademy/classes?location=1]. Tuition will be processed in full at the time of registration. Tuition is non-refundable. We encourage families to commit to the program before signing up. Space is limited.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL SUMMER WORKSHOP | Ages 11+

Ballet West Academy will offer an intensive program at Trolley Square that has been carefully designed for serious intermediate level ballet students who desire individual instruction in a professional and caring environment. This summer workshop guides students in their ballet technique as well as other dance forms that compliment a ballet artists’ arsenal. This program is designed for dancers age 11 and above.

PLACEMENT FOR CURRENT ACADEMY STUDENTS
Students should register for the workshop that correlates with their current (2017-2018) level. All dancers participating in the Pre-Professional Workshop will attend a placement class on their first day. Students will be placed in the level that will allow the most growth during the summer program.
PLACEMENT FOR NEW STUDENTS
Acceptance through audition is required to attend this Pre-Professional Workshop. New Students age 11 and up need to attend our upcoming audition or submit a video audition for consideration. The Salt Lake Summer Workshop audition will be held on a date TBD. Pre-registration is encouraged and will be available below. All dancers participating in the Pre-Professional Workshop will attend a placement class on their first day.

INTERMEDIATE CONTEMPORARY WORKSHOP SCHEDULE| Ages 11+

Intermediate level dancers can hone their contemporary technique in this new week long workshop.  Daily ballet technique, contemporary technique and contemporary choreography classes fill the week with opportunities for dancers to stretch their movement boundaries.  This adventurous week will conclude with and in-studio showing of the choreograph works the dancers have explored throughout the workshop.

ELEMENTARY DANCE EXPLORATION WORKSHOP | AGES 7 & UP

Dancers age 7 and up are invited to explore a plethora of dance forms as they participate in our new Dance Exploration Workshop.  Dancers in our year-round Elementary levels will have the opportunity to take classes in various forms of dance throughout the week.  Class offerings will include daily ballet technique and three other classes from a mixture of dance forms.

BUILD A BALLET WORKSHOP | AGES 9+

Elementary B1 through Intermediate D level dancers have the opportunity to explore the many facets of how ballets are born through our Build a Ballet workshop. From choreographing to scenery construction, marketing to costume design dancers will learn how ballets are created on and off stage.  The workshop will culminate with a performance showcasing student work. Students will take home their costume and prop they create for the performance.

SUMMER FANTASY CAMPS | Ages 4-7

Join us this summer for a workshop filled with dancing, crafts, story time and make believe!

With three different themed weeks, parents have the option to enroll their children in one, two or all three weeks to enhance their children's art, dance and learning experience. Classes will take place at our Trolley Square campus. Students will incorporate ballet-based movements and imaginative artwork to explore the world of fantasy! These lively weeklong camps conclude with a Friday performance.  Students will walk away from this week of learning with fond memories, movement development, outstanding artwork, and fun costumes all of which will help them continue the adventure at home.
